Comprehensive Project List

  Client: Lambert Smith Hampton/Sonny Astani
Lead Agency: City of Los Angeles
Date Completed: In Progress

CAJA is currently preparing an MND for the proposed 9th & Figueroa Mixed Use Project, located on the northern portion of the block bound by 9th Street, Flower Street, Olympic Boulevard, and Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles. The Proposed Project would redevelop an existing surface parking lot with the introduction of a new multi-family residential and retail complex providing a total of approximately 629 residential units and 27,000 square feet of retail space. The Proposed Project includes three primary buildings, as follows: (1) a 28-story multi-family residential tower with ground-floor retail space along Figueroa Street; (2) a 28-story multi-family residential tower with ground-floor retail space along 9th Street; and (3) a six-story loft-style residential building with ground floor retail space along Flower Street. All of the residential units are proposed as condominium "for sale" units.

Parking for project residents and visitors would be provided within a multi-level parking structure in the center of the Project Site providing subterranean and aboveground parking levels. A terrace would be located on the roof of the parking structure and would provide a pool, fitness center, and open courtyard to serve future residents. In addition, a private park would be located at ground level near the southwest corner of 9th Street and Flower Street. A one-story retail building would be developed at the southeast corner of 9th Street and Figueroa Street, between the two 28-story towers.

The 9th & Figueroa Mixed Use Project is one of several mixed use development projects in the South Park area of Downtown Los Angeles for which CAJA is currently providing environmental planning support. This and other projects in the vicinity aim to revitalize the South Park neighborhood by providing a variety of housing options as well around-the-clock retail and commercial activities in close proximity to employment centers.
