Client:
Wildlife Waystation Lead Agency: County of Los Angeles Date Completed: In Progress The Wildlife Waystation project is for the operation, improvement, and expansion of the existing Wildlife Waystation, a menagerie for the keeping and maintaining of exotic wild animals, native wild animals, and domestic animals. The 161.7-acre project site is a privately owned property located entirely within the Angeles National Forest. Proposed Wildlife Waystation improvements include the provision of a new animal receiving and nursing building, a new administrative building, a new operations and storage building, a new employee building, and the reversion of the temporary office building to its former use as an educational center. Some existing cages and pens that are located on hillside slopes and/or adjacent to watercourses would be removed. Most domestic animals would be removed from the property and their stabling facilities would be dismantled. Infrastructure improvements include the widening of interior roadways, the addition of water storage and distribution facilities, installation of a centralized sewage system, placement of fire hydrants, and a parking plan. ![]() Wildlife Waystation Project Site Vegetation Communities Source: Chambers Group Inc. ![]() Visual Simulation of the Proposed Project Source: Blake Shelters Architect |
