CAJA's biological and resource management services include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • General biological inventories and impact assessments
  • Biological resource constraints analyses
  • Jurisdictional delineations of Waters of the U.S., including wetlands
  • Botanical surveys (detailed floristic surveys and focused rare plant surveys)
  • Vegetation mapping and oak tree surveys
  • Regulatory permitting for wetlands and waters (Clean Water Act Sections 401 and 404, and Calif. Fish and Game Section 1600) and endangered species (Endangered Species Act Federal Section 7 and 10, and State Section 2081)
  • Habitat mitigation plan preparation and conceptual design, implementation, and monitoring
  • Resource management and habitat restoration planning
  • Peer review services

CAJA's technical staff consists of conservation ecologists, biologists, botanists, wetland specialists, environmental planners, and landscape architects. Together with a highly skilled network of specialized contract wildlife biologists, local experts, and resource management professionals, CAJA's Biological Services Team provides the technical expertise and flexibility necessary to meet the specialized needs of each client. CAJA maintains an ongoing subscription membership to the California Natural Diversity Database (CNDDB), the California Department of Fish and Game's computerized inventory of information on the location and condition of California's rare, threatened, endangered, and sensitive plants, animals, and natural communities. CAJA also uses GIS to accurately synthesize, analyze, and depict the location and extent of complex biological resources and issues.
